Abstract

1468449 Dartboards CROWN RECREA TION INC 3 Sept 1974 [10 Dec 1973] 38387/74 Heading A6S A cage for a dartboard defines the target area and includes a rim, the cage being formed from a thermoplastic material which shrinks upon cooling so that the cage when first moulded can receive a core, e.g. a laminated board, onto which it then contracts. As shown, a dartboard cage 50 of polyethylene, &c. has a rim 52 with a front flange 60 and individual rear flanges 64 also illustrated in Fig. 6 (not shown). When first moulded, the cage 50 easily accepts a laminated core 12 having paper or cardboard layers on its top and bottom faces. As the cage 50 shrinks, the flanges on its front and rear edges slide over the top and bottom faces of the core 12 to grip it. Recesses 58 in the core 12 hold darts. In a modification, Figs. 1-4 (not shown), the rim is circular and integral with the outer ring 30 of the target area.
