Abstract

1467116 Clear-view windows GLAS-UND SPIEGELMANUFAKTUR N KINON GmbH 20 May 1975 [24 June 1974] 21442/75 Heading A4F A rotary self clearing window comprises a rotary glass disc 3 mounted adjacent a fixed glass sheet 2 and on the shaft of a motor 14 carried by the sheet 2, and electrical resistance heating elements 9 arranged at one surface or within the sheet 2 and both within and outside the area covered by the rotary disc 3, for preventing ice formation in the space between the members 2, 3 and on the outer surface of the glass sheet 2 surrounding the disc 3. The illustrated sheet 2 comprises an inner glass sheet 4 secured by thermoplastic layers 7, 8 to outer and inner glass covering sheets 5, 6. The electrical heating elements 9 are arranged in the layer 7 and further electrical heating elements 15 of lesser power are provided in the layer 8 for preventing misting of the inner window surface. At the periphery of the disc 3 a labyrinth seal 30, 31 is provided between the disc 3 and the covering sheet 5.
