Abstract

1466814 Clothes stands I SCHWALBE 24 March 1975 [25 March 1974] 12197/75 Heading A4U A clothes stand, e.g. for coats and shirts, comprises a hanger and a holder 5 therefore mounted in a support 4, the hanger being formed from a rod including a bent portion 2 of generally arc-like shape to receive the shoulders of the clothing article and a sleeve-receiving portion 1 extending from one end of portion 2 to extend through a sleeve of the article and which has an end-portion locatable in the holder 5 so as to retain the hanger in a raised position relative to the support. The bent portion 2 may have an anti-theft projection 12 (or 11) Fig. 7, (not shown) and the end-portion may be locked to the holder 5. A plurality of hangers may be locked to respective holders 5 in the support 4 by a common slidable latch-bolt 7 which is locked against sliding by a key-operated lock 6 and has edge portions extending through recesses in the holders 5 to engage peripheral grooves (3) in the end-portions in the locking position, and recessed edge portions (9) which are aligned with the peripheral grooves (3) in the unlocked position, the hangers being rotatable in the holders 5 in both the locked and the unlocked positions.
