Abstract

1462920 Two-part couplings; terminals AMP Inc 23 July 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 32791/74 Heading H2E A connector for a flat cable 12 comprises a plurality of contacts each having a pair of arms 28, 30 ending in forks 32, 34 which, when the housing members 18, 20 are pushed together, inter-digitate and bite into a conductor 78 of the cable. The members 18, 20 are held closed by latching arms 74, 76 and have recesses 80 for frictionally receiving arms 28, 30, and stress relieving projections 60, 70, 72. The arms 28, 30 of adjacent contacts are of different lengths to permit closer packing.
