Abstract

1462057 Load responsive brakes GIRLING Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 44026/73 Heading F2F A brake pressure control valve comprising a valve member 16 co-operating with a valve seat 17 formed in a member subjected in use to an external control load and an hydraulic thrust the member being movable to a position in which closure of the valve member against its seat is prevented on failure of the external control load, has a stepped piston 8 including a stem 7 to which the control force is applied, the piston having an internal passage 18 of which one end is constituted by a radial bore 17 forming the valve seat, the valve member being a ball 16 which is held off closing engagement with seat 17 by engagement with the inner end of a slot 15 in a locating ring 11.
