Abstract
146,048. Forrester, H. J. C., (Blue Bird Manufacturing Co.). Dec. 29, 1919. Wringers, attaching to washing-machines with rocking receptacles.-In oscillating washing-machines surmounted by a wringer capable of swing- ing about a vertical axis into various positions for use, means are provided to limit the arc of swing so as to prevent the wringer from being placed above and so being struck by the oscillating tub. The wringer C is supported by a rotary sleeve 1 enclosing the driving-shaft D and mounted in a fixed sleeve 3. The sleeves are provided with cooperating disks 2, 4, and a pivoted catch 6 carried by the rotary disk 2 may be engaged with peripheral recesses 5 in the stationary disk 4 to lock the wringer support in its different positions. To prevent the wringer from swinging to a position over the tub, the disk 4 has an extension 7 adapted to be engaged by a stop 10 on the wringer support at the limits of movement in either direction.
