Abstract
1458368 Electro-plating basket LUCAS ELECTRICAL Ltd 11 June 1974 [22 June 1973] 29764/73 Heading C7B An electro-plating basket comprises a liquid permeable receptacle 1 formed of metal e.g. Ti or mild steel for containing anode material, e.g. Ni pieces, and at least one (e.g. two) metal supporting arm 3 e.g. of Ti including a hooked extension 4 formed of a metal more conductive than that of the receptacle and remainder of the arm, the hooked extension engaging a Cu bus-bar in use and being joined to the remainder of the arm metallurgically by a solid phase joint 5 e.g. by friction welding. The more conductive metal may be Cu, Ag, Al or Cu alloy e.g. brass. The receptacle may be covered with a permeable textile material.
