Abstract

1458363 Ventilator CONT INTERNATIONAL Ltd 8 March 1974 [9 March 1973] 11539/73 Heading A5A [Also in Divisions E2 and F4] A roof mounted ventilator comprises a frame 11 defining with a water drainage channel 14 two ventilation openings 12 closable by two simultaneously operable pivoted flaps 10, biased by springs 50 or 50a to an open position, and a single acting pneumatic jack 16 having return springs 22 and connected to each flap 10 by a cable 41 and a yoke 35 movable radially with respect to the flap pivot axis between a radially inner position and a radially outer position corresponding respectively to the open and closed positions of the flap. The yokes 35 include rollers 36 guided on arms 30 fixed to the flaps 10 and pivotally mounted on the frame 11. The said inner and outer positions of the yokes 35 are defined by stops 37, 38. Each cable 41 includes a fusible link 44 to ensure opening of the flaps 10 in the event of a fire. The flaps 10 are made of or carry heat insulating material and in their closed positions abut above the water drainage channel 14.
