Abstract

1457810 Fastening mechanism for doors BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO Ltd 1 April 1975 [2 April 1974] 14501/74 Heading E2A Fastening mechanism for a door of a vehicle, for example, comprises a fastening member, having a curved claw 11, Figs. 6, 7 and 9, with a projecting rib 12, and comprises a keeper having a projection 2, Fig. 3, with an opening to receive the claw therein and a base 1 with a groove 6 therein for the rib 12 of the claw. The fastening member has a shank 8, a frusto-conical collar 9 and a stem 10. The keeper has a projection 4 with an inclined face 5. In use fastening is effected by rotating the stem 10 in the clockwise direction, Figs. 10, 11 and 12, and un-fastening is effected by rotating the stem 10 in the anti-clockwise direction, Figs. 13, 14 and 15. In modifications the claw 11, Fig. 24, has a notch 16 provided to receive a boss 15, Fig. 18, therein, the projection 4 is replaced by a wider projection 14, and the groove 6 extends along the projection 14.
