Abstract

1456905 Circular waveguides LES CABLES DE LYON 18 Feb 1974 [26 Feb 1973] 7336/74 Heading H1W In order to preserve the lay of the wire in a flexible waveguide made of a helical winding, the cross-section of the wire 7 is parallelogram and the wire is covered with an insulant having a relatively high coefficient of friction. The insulant 6 may consist of e.g. a polyamide or polythene dissolved in xylene. The wire 7 may be bimetallic so that the winding presents an internal side of e.g. copper having good conductivity, and an external side made of aluminium or iron. An insulating sheath 2 may be attached by an adhesive cement 5 to the helical winding which is previously coated with e.g. polyethylene.
