Abstract
1,167,964. Coaxial cables. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. 10 May, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 22172/67. Heading H1A. A watertight sheath 10, e.g. polythene, encloses insulated conductors 2 helically wound around at least one coaxial line 1, the direction of lay being reversed at intervals, preferably regular intervals of 5/4 turns. The conductors 2 may be single, a stranded pair or a stranded pair of stranded pairs. Each line 1 comprises a longitudinally seamed conductor 4 with either a strengthening metal tape or a polyethylene terephthalate tape 6 wound on it. The conductor 4 may have circumferential corrugations, and is separated from inner conductor 3 by polythene 5 or an airspace.
