Abstract

1456188 Coating steel strands by hot dipping ARMCO STEEL CORP 8 April 1975 [22 April 1974] 14329/75 Heading C7F Steel tubes, rods or strips are coated by hot dipping with e.g. Zn (which may contain 0À05 to 0À20 % Al) Al or Sn by heating e.g. a tube to 300 to 700‹C, induction heating to 650‹C, jet cooling to the bath temperature, passing it upwardly through the molten zinc bath, protecting it from oxygen, e.g. by an H 2 -N 2 atmosphere, till entering the molten zinc, jet finishing the coating, and water quenching.
