Abstract

1456187 Rolling metal powder MASCHINENFABRIK KOPPERN & CO KG 27 March 1975 [29 March 1974] 12898/75 Heading B5A [Also in Division B3] Material in the form of metal swarf, pellets or powders is briquetted by pressing it between a pair of rollers having depressions on their surfaces arranged in a chequered pattern whereby a continuous strip is formed having briquettes 4 extending from each side, the briquettes 4 on one side being staggered with respect to those on the other side. Swarf which has been heated in a rotary drum furnace (22) (Fig. 9, not shown) is fed between the briquetting rollers (28) which produce a strip having dome-shaped briquettes 4 with square bases. The strip produced is conveyed, possibly via a cooler (34) (Fig. 10, not shown) between a pair of rollers (32) which separate the briquettes 4 from each other to form individual briquettes Alternatively, separation may be effected by relatively movably plates 18, 20, Fig. 8 which may be inclined (Fig. 11, not shown).
