Abstract

1454829 Stud and socket fastenings CERBERUS AG 6 Dec 1974 [7 Dec 1973] 52879/74 Heading E2B [Also in Division H2] A fire-sensor comprises a socket element A for mounting on a support, and a sensor element B including fire sensing and detection means, removably securable to A, and a movable locking member 5 located in one of the elements to co-operate with a recess 8 in the other, and prevent disengagement of the elements upon engagement of the locking member in the recess. The socket and sensor element may have bayonet type engagement and the locking member may be a plug with or without a spring, a permanent magnet or a spring-loaded wedge-shaped catch. The direction of movement of the locking element or catch is at right angles to the direction of movement of the sensor element for engagement. A removal tool C consists of a sleeve 9 which can be pushed over element B to lift the locking member 5 from the slot 8, the inner layer 10 of rubber or foam resiliently clamping the sensor B so that the latter can be rotated for disengagement.
