Abstract

1453824 Formwork for concrete floors; trusses ACROW (ENGS) Ltd 18 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972] 48100/72 Headings E1K and E1S A truss for supporting floor formwork comprises a wooden beam 4 having a steel tie bar 8 interconnecting and rigidly secured to the ends of the beam, the tie bar being spaced from the beam between its ends by at least one strut 6. The trusses are arranged in a rectangular grid, supported at their ends on corner posts of scaffolding towers. Such corner posts each carry a screw-jack 34 having an upwardly projecting pin 38, and the trusses have at each end a bracket 18 having a flange 22, 24 with a hole 26 for fitting over a pin 38. As shown, the flange 24 at one end is downwardly offset, so that two adjacent trusses may be fitted on a pin 38 with the tops of their beams 4 flush. Trusses in the transverse direction have level flanges (Fig. 2, not shown) which rest on and are nailed to the beams 4 shown.
