Abstract

1453649 Matt surface laminates CROWN ZELLERBACH CORP 8 March 1974 10497/74 Heading B5B A laminated film comprises at least two coextruded layers, one of which is an outer layer of an ethylene/propylene block copolymer. This copolymer must contain from 3 to 25% by weight of ethylene and be in the form of a layer between 0À02 and substantially 0À20 mils thick with a surface gloss of less than 10% and a nominal melt flow rate at 230‹ C. of 3 to 5 g./10 min. The laminate is from 0À75 to 10 mils thick. The other layer or layers are of synthetic thermoplastic polymer chosen to suit the end coil. It is chosen from polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene/propylene copolymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers, ethylene/ ethacrylate copolymers, vinylidene copolymers, polyamide and polyesters. Three-layered films disclosed comprise an outer layer of the block copolymer, a core layer of a blend of two polyethylenes one of which is pigmented, and another layer of lowdensity polyethylene or ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer.
