Abstract

1453317 Folding propellers J F MENKE 3 Jan 1974 [9 Jan 1973] 00210/74 Heading B7V A folding propeller has two blades 1, 2 which are foldable about a common pivot pin 6 and carry bevel gear quadrants 8, 9 respectively and these two quadrants mesh with a bevel pinion 10 mounted on a shaft 5 extending through and coaxial with the propeller shaft 4 so that the blades are moved through equal angles upon relative rotation between the shafts 4 and 5. Control means are detachably connected to the shaft 5 to cause the relative rotation and indicating means may be provided to indicate the position of the blades relative to the propeller shaft.
