Abstract

1452184 Piston or valve spool packing AUTOMATISATION-SOGEMO 14 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 21257/74 Headings F2B and F2T The initial displacement of surface 13, relatively to stationary packing 1-5, causes a rolling action of the active portion 4, thus bringing lubricant covered parts of the surfaces of portion 4 and 13 into play. The surface 13 may be that of valve spool (12, Fig. 1 not shown) or the packing may be mounted on a piston (Fig. 8, not shown). The packing may be of nitrile rubber bonded to a brass reinforcing ring 1.
