Abstract

1451896 Rotary mower MASSEY-FERGUSON-PERKINS Ltd 19 Dec 1973 [6 Jan 1973] 876/73 Heading A1F The cutting assembly for a rotary mower comprises shields 90 rivetted to the underside of a cutter carrier 27 and upon each of which is pivotally mounted a blade 28. Each blade is held in position by a pivotal member 96 which is integral with shield 90 and which engages a threaded bolt 110, the bolt serving to hold the pivotal member 96 and consequently the shield 90 at a fixed distance from the cutter carrier 27. The leading edge 84 of each shield, taken in the direction of rotation, abuts the cutter carrier and serves to protect its respective blade from material which is thrown out radially by centrifugal force. Removal of each blade is effected by extracting the respective bolt 110 and depressing the shield 90, after which the blade can be freed from the pivotal member 96.
