Abstract

1451627 Modular furniture ING C OLIVETTI & C SpA 31 Oct 1973 [10 Nov 1972] 50647/73 Heading A4U [Also in Division B8 and E2] Modular furniture is erected from a plurality of peripherally flanged panels detachably joined together by means of locking devices 16 which are pushed through aligned slots 14 in adjoining edges of the panels and rotated to clamp the edges together, each device 16 comprising a central pin at each end of which is a flat wing portion 17. As the device is rotated in a pair of slots 14 protuberances 21 on the wings 17 engage the main portions of the panels 11. Further rotation forces the protuberances apart so that the flanges 13 are clamped between the opposite portions 20 of the wings 17.
