Abstract
1450218 Mineral-mining machines EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK U EISENGIESSEREI mbH Gebr 11 Dec 1973 [12 Dec 1972] 57437/73 Heading E1F A rotatable, mineral-winning member for a mineral-winning or heading machine is adapted, when in an operational position on the machine, for rotation about an axis 12 directed towards a mineral face from which it is to win mineral, and has the form of a truncated cone 11, which tapers in the direction towards its end face facing away from the mineral face and has an axis of symmetry 14 which is so inclined in relation to the axis of rotation 12 of the member as to form with the axis of rotation an acute angle α, the apex of which lies within or on the boundaries of the truncated cone and the other end face of the truncated cone, which other end face lies in a plane at right angles to the axis of rotation 12. Preferably the axis 12, 14 intersect on the plane of the smaller end face of the truncated cone, which may comprise two truncated cone portions having abutting end faces and of which portions the portion which has the largest diameter tapers more sharply than the rearward portion. The portions may be integrally formed or may be detachably interconnected and, when so connected, may have a variable angular relationship. A cutter plate may be secured to the outer face of the member. One or more rollers rotatably carried in a frame may form the envelope surface of the truncated cone or the truncated cone portions. Each roller may have cutting teeth along its length.
