Abstract

1446083 Apparatus for cleaning screws, nuts, bolts &c. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 Nov 1974 [20 Nov 1973] 53770/73 Heading C7E Articles are cleaned in e.g. a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent by loading them into a bin 7 in a drum 1, rotating the drum so that the articles fall into the drum where they are cleaned by a solvent, and then automatically returning the articles to the bin by means of a vane 10 and deflection member 11. As shown in Fig. 3, six drums are mounted on an intermittently rotating wheel 18 mounted above boiling solvent in a sump 13. Condensation coils 15 prevent the solvent vapour from rising above the level Y Y'. Solvent is also sprayed through nozzles 20, 21.
