Abstract

1445385 Ratchet attachment for a tool LACREX BREVETTI SA 2 Oct 1973 [11 Oct 1972] 46048/73 Heading B3N [Also in Division F2] A torque applying device which is adapted to fit on to the handle of a tool, such as a screwdriver, comprises a ratchet wheel 6 and pawls 4, 5 which can selectively be brought into operative engagement with the ratchet wheel 6 by means of a shift lever 17, the ratchet wheel 6 being operatively connected to a driver member 2 formed by a circular arrangement of driver elements 10. Preferably a band 18 is provided around the elements 10. In a modification, the driver member comprises a casing 12 containing a plurality of rods 14 which may be pushed back againat a resilient cushion 13 by a tool handle 15.
