Abstract

1442924 Yarn delivery rollers and guides BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFARBIK AG 4 July 1974 [4 July 1973 (2) 9 May 1974] 29657/74 Heading DID A delivery mechanism for a "fibre bundle" (any bundle of continuous threads or filaments such as a continuous yarn or spinning tow) comprises two axially parallel, peripherally grooved rollers 26, 27, driven at the same circumferential speed and exerting a clamping action on the bundle 1. Roller 27 is mounted on a rocking arm 28 which is urged by spring 30 towards roller 26, a limit stop 29 ensuring that a gap e.g. 0.1mm or more dependent on the bundle thickness, remains between rollers such that they do not intermesh. The grooves in the rollers parallel to the axes thereof, Fig. 2 (not shown) may be defined by stub teeth. A filament guide device 7 fitting into the converging space between rollers 26, 27, provides a delivery channel 13 into which the bundle is inserted via a slot 16; it is movable on rails 32, 34, in the direction of delivery (and in the event of a snag in the filament run) from its operative position normally located by a spring-tensioned stop 33.
