Abstract

1440417 Detaching articles suspended from conveyers PMEYN 6 Nov 1974 [15 Nov 1973] 47960/74 Heading B8A A conveyer hanger 12, the lower ends of the legs of which are provided with hooks 13 from which a fowl is suspended by its ankle joints 14, is gripped and moved alongside a stationary guide tail 20 which engages the legs of the fowl to lift the fowl upwardly and away from the hanger 12 so that the ankle joints 14 are successively lifted out of the hooks 13. A plurality of hangers 12 are suspended from elements 7 connected to a haulage cable 8. The elements 7 have rollers 9 running on a guide 10 and are engaged with a toothed wheel 6 to rotate same. The wheel 6 rotates a further wheel having teeth 16 between which and a guide 17 the hangers are gripped. The discharged fowl falls on to a conveyer belt (23, Fig. 2).
