Abstract

1439839 Endless conveyers G BECHTLOFF 17 July 1973 [22 July 1972] 34102/73 Heading B8A A conveyer comprises two endless conveyer belts 1, 2, Fig. 1, which are each provided with a layer of resilient material and which are in contact over a part of their conveying run, in which part the goods being conveyed are enveloped so as to be conveyed upwardly as shown by the arrows, the belts 1, 2 being guided by guide rollers 3, 4 and also being supported by respective support belts 5, 6 over the said part of their run, one or both of which may be driven, and in addition, support rollers 9, 10 are provided. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, a resilient belt 2 of foam material is guided about guide rollers 3, 4 to form loops 14 which can compensate for changes in length of the belt, a driving support belt 6 passing about the rollers 3, 4, and a conveyer belt 15 without foam material which, together with the belt 2, conveys goods, also drives the belt 2 and support rollers 16 ensure the abutment of the belt 15 against the belt 2. The embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) discloses a belt (1) of resilient material and a belt (23) not provided with foam material, the belt (1) being driven by a driving support belt (20) provided with ribs (21) which engage ribs (22) on the adjacent surface of the belt (1), the belt (23) also being provided with ribs (24) which engage with ribs (25) formed on the outer surface of the belt (1). The belt (1) is supported by a guide roller (18) which is subjected to an upward pull by a spring (19) whose bias is adjustable such that the belt (1) is held taut and guided.
