Abstract

1438334 Electromagnetic relays COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE 2 Oct 1973 [31 Oct 1972] 46029/73 Heading H1N [Also in Division H2] An A.C. overcurrent protection system has a magnetic contact unit 2 polarized by a winding 4 and operated when the flux is increased due to energization of an operating winding 8 which carries a current collected from the line to be protected as shown in Fig. 3. The device has a reset flux level below its operating flux level and if either its bias current or operating current is A.C. then it may automatically reset. The relay contacts 2 may be connected to a recording circuit or a plurality of contact units may be provided each with different operate and reset flux levels to feed a measuring circuit (not shown). The coil 8 is fed from connectors 40, 42 (Fig. 3) in a zone 38 of zero magnetic field between two connectors 34, 36 in a transmission line 30, the connectors 40, 42 having terminals at opposite ends of the connector 34.
