Abstract
1438203 Recharging metal - air cells INTERAG RT and TEXELEKTRO TEXTILES ELEKTRONIKA IPARI SZOVETKEZET 29 July 1974 [2 Aug 1973] 33423/74 Heading H1B A metal-air hybrid fuel cell comprises a cathode, Fig. 3, which is removable from between the anodes 2 to enable charging of the cell. The anodes are made of zinc and are provided with terminals 3 which pass through holes in the case 1. Rubber seals 10 and 11 for the cathode and the anodes respectively are provided. The cathode consists of two plates 7 mounted in a frame 8 and immersed in potassium hydroxide electrolyte 4. Each plate comprises a nickel screen on to which silver or platinum powder is pressed and rendered waterproof with P.T.F.E. In order to charge the cell, the cathode is removed and an auxiliary electrode, Fig. 4 (not shown) is inserted in its place. The auxiliary electrode consists of iron plates.
