Abstract

143,798. Benedetti, F. de. Nov. 21, 1919. Jacks.-The handle 7 of a screw jack is rigidly connected to, or formed integral with, a bevel-gear 8 which gears with a nut 5 bearing on the top of the standard 1. The inner end of the handle 7 is mounted in a boss 6 on the standard, and is locked by a spring pin. The handle is preferably made in two parts hinged together and maintained in alinement by a slidable sleeve 14 which bears against a collar 15 fixed on one of the parts.
