Abstract

1437039 Processing aids BASF AG 17 Oct 1973 [18 Oct 1972] 48363/73 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] Waxy esters prepared by the esterification of one or more saturated or unsaturated C 12 -C 30 alcohols with at least one saturated or unsaturated lower aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic or polycarboxylic acid or anhydride in the presence of from 0À1 to 10% by wt. (based on the total conversion) of a saturated, branched or linear monohydric or polylydric C 1 -C 5 aliphatic alcohol, and conventional esterification catalysts, and in the case of incomplete esterification, by further reaction with a metal oxide or hydroxide (e.g. Ca) are used as lubricants in the processing of thermoplastics.
