Abstract

1434241 Manhole covers F LARSSON and R LARSSON 17 April 1973 [21 April 1972] 18445/73 Heading E1G A height-adjustable. and tiltable manhole frame comprises an outer ring 3-eg. of wood or concrete-carrying abutment plates 18 for adjusting screws 12 in lugs 7 of an inner ring 4 supporting the manhole cover or grating 6, the abutment plates 18 being anchored in the ring 3 and having welded-on strips 19 which project radially inwards and can be bent down manually as shown to centre the frame relatively to the top ring 1 of the manhole. The adjusting screw openings 9 have plastics covers 15 from which may depend plastics looking plates (24, Fig. 2, not shown) for the square screw heads 14. Each screw 12 crosses a side opening 28 which may contain a grease cup 31 on which .may, Fig. 5 (not shown), contain a nut (34) used in place of, or after wear of, the integral threaded part 11 shown.
