Abstract

1319508 Manhole covers and frames PONTA-MOUSSON SA 1 Dec 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 57227/70 Heading E1G A manhole cover and frame assembly comprises a cover T seated in a height-adjusting intermediate frame R which is in turn seated in a fixed frame C, the frames and cover being interlocked in series by the provision of cooperating hooks, inclined lugs and notches. As shown the frame R is circular and has two depending hooks 10 cooperating with a notched annular rib 3 and also, Fig. 2 (not shown), an inclined depending lug (11) cooperating with an inclined notch (5), the frames being interengaged by a tilting action, whereafter the frame R is rotated to the locked position shown. Similar interlock formations are provided between the cover T and frame R. In a modification employing two superposed intermediate frames, Fig. 4 (not shown) the lower and fixed frames (R', C) are not interlocked, but are provided with cooperating stepped ramps for height adjustment.
