Abstract
1432323 Timing ignition NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 15 March 1974 [19 March 1973] 11671/74 Heading F1B In a torch ignited internal combustion engine the spark timing is retarded during partial load operation of the engine relative to the spark timing at full load operation. As shown when the throttle valve 11 is fully opened the consequent low vacuum pressure allows the rod 6 to be moved rightward under the action of the spring 4 which advances the ignition timing. In a modification (not shown) the conduit 3' communicates with the induction pipe on the engine side of the throttle valve. The expression "torch ignited internal combustion engine" is defined in the Specification.
