Abstract
1428144 Electrographic development SCOTT PAPER CO 31 Aug 1973 [7 March 1973] 41156/73 Heading G2H Liquid developer is flowed uniformly through a perforate development electrode 11 on to the image bearing side of a sheet of electro-photographic material 10 without contacting the side opposite the image side. As shown, developer is sprayed from a tube 12 against a baffle 13, the tube 12 being provided with a row of holes or a slit along its length, and both the tube 12 and the baffle 13 are preferably the same length as the electrode 11. In another embodiment, the baffle 13 is omitted, the jet of developer being directed against the adjacent guide roll. In two further embodiments, the baffle 13 is replaced by a channel shaped baffle or a block of reticulated polyurethane foam respectively, each being sited closely above a horizontally disposed development electrode 11. The electrode 11 may be biased, grounded or floating as required.
