Abstract

1427135 Forage distributor ROTARY HOES Ltd 9 May 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 6170/72 Heading AID [Also in Division B8] A horizontally disposed, generally cylindrical container 10, mounted on a wheeled carriage has an opening in the upper side extending longitudinally from one end plate 12 to the other 13. A hinged cover 15, provided with a horizontal extension plate 25, covers the length of the opening and defines a narrow slot-like outlet along one side of container 10. A longitudinal rotor shaft 16 mounted within container 10 and carrying chain flails 17 is driven by the tractor p.t.o. to discharge material on to a cylindrical roller 20 driven via a pulley 22 and fitted with regularly spaced axial projections 21 and located adjacent the lower edge of the container opening. The roller is driven in the same direction as the shaft 16, by a belt 24 from pulley 23 on shaft 16 to pulley 22. Alternatively chain or gear drives may be used. A vertically adjustable screen 30, carried on horizontal arms 27, 28 is spaced from the container outlet to direct material from the container 10 to trough 31.
