Abstract
1425546 Ventilators TECHNICAIR SA 26 Feb 1974 [9 March 1973] 8751/74 Heading F4V A roof ventilator comprises a centrifugal fan impeller 1 driven by a coaxial electric motor 3, a cover 8 which supports the motor 3 and which is supported above a base 4 having an air inlet 5 for the impeller 1 by a support structure 10 having struts each extending between points on the base 4 and cover 8 which points are offset angularly about the axis of impeller 1. In the form shown, the structure 10 includes four inverted V-shaped members each fixed at 12 to the base 4 and at 13 to the cover 8. A protective cage 15 for the impeller 1 of trellis-work or expanded metal is supported by structure 10. The motor 3 includes a rotor 2 and a stator 7. In another embodiment (Figs. 3, 4), the struts are defined by a single bent metal rod or wire and some of the struts may be vertical. Resilient material may be located between the struts and the base 4 or cover 8.
