Abstract

1424377 Strand twisting means SIEMENS AG 22 June 1973 [22 June 1972] 29915/73 Heading D1T A twisting means for use in stranding elongate elements together includes at least one pair of opposed rollers 4, 5, Fig. 4, each roller having a peripheral groove 28 in which is a lining of elastomeric material 27 providing the running surface of the roller, the elastomeric material being bonded to the base of the groove on opposite sides of a part 34 of the groove that remains empty. Fig. 5 shows how the elasomeric material 27 flexes on the material 33 to be stranded passes between the rollers. The paired rollers are mounted on carriers whereby the spacing between them is adjustable.
