Abstract

1423405 Copying by scanning XEROX CORP 16 Feb 1973 [22 Feb 1972] 32481/75 Divided out of 1423404 Heading H4F The light beam produced by a laser 11 is used to scan a photoresponsive surface 65 forming part of a xerographic process to produce a facsimile image on paper 71 in response to a received signal, feedback means 46 stabilizing the laser output. A galvanometer 20 having an oscillating mirror 21 is used to provide the line scan, the frame scan being produced by movement of surface 65. The received facsimile signal may be used to modulate the intensity of the light beam from the laser either directly as an anologue signal or after conversion to digital form at 43 and subsequent modulation at 44 on to a high frequency wave HFW.
