Abstract

1423404 Copying by scanning XEROX CORP 16 Feb 1973 [22 Feb 1972] 7820/73 Heading H4F The light beam produced by a laser 11 is used to scan a document 17, to derive facsimile signals from an elongate photodetector 26. A galvanometer 20 having an oscillating mirror 21 is used to provide the line scan, the frame scan being produced by movement of document 17. The intensity of the light beam from the laser is controlled by a circuit 31 to be of high intensity during the line scans and low intensity during the line flyback periods. Feedback control circuitry 32 stabilizes the laser output during the line scan.
