Abstract

1422175 Erasing electrostatic images XEROX CORP 4 May 1973 [12 May 1972] 21259/73 Heading G2H Deposition of toner on areas of photoconductive drum 10 which are not to contact a copy sheet is prevented by flooding of them with light from a suitably masked source before development. The source may be an electroluminescent panel 26, with a sliding shade 28 which can be adjusted to vary the width of margin X. The shade may be linked to a copy sheet sensing device, and be moved according to the width of sheets to be printed on.
