Abstract

1420555 Electric couplings R E LAWLOR 18 March 1974 11925/74 Heading H2E A terminal for receiving a cable C comprises inner and outer members A, B having diametral bores 17 (Figs. 2 to 6, not shown), 27 which are aligned by pivoting arm 11 upwards from the position shown until finger 25 abuts wall 18 and heel 28 rests on ridge 19, allowing cable C to be inserted and firmly clamped by squeezing arms 10, 11 together, the outer member flexing to allow the ridge 19 to pass the heel 28 and lock into the groove 26, holding the clamp in the closed position while the arms 10, 11 are bolted together and to a support D by a bolt E. The ridge may be on the outer member and the groove on the inner, or the outer and inner may have matching grooves to allow an aluminium pin to be inserted.
