Abstract
1420015 Mining conveyers TAIHEIYO COAL MINING CO Ltd 12 Feb 1973 6835/73 Heading B8A [Also in Division El] Mining equipment comprises a conveyer 1 for transferring mined mineral from a face conveyer 24 to a gate conveyer 19 and a floor-dinting mining unit 7 that is integrally associated with the conveyer 1 to maintain the gate floor at a predetermined level in front of the conveyer 1 as it is advanced through a gate road as mineral is mined from a face. The floor-dinting mining unit 7 has laterally and vertically adjustable floor-cutting means 7, e.g. disc and bar cutter means, and is connected, preferably by a piston cylinder unit 8, to a skid 2 on which the conveyer 1 is mounted. The skid 2 may also carry the drive means 3 for the face conveyer 24, provide support for one end of the face conveyer, and be connected for its advancement through the gate road by a ram 14 to a releasable, selfadvancing gate roof support 13. Conveyer means 33 is provided on the skid to feed material cut from the gate floor by cutting means 7 to the conveyer 1. A reversal roller 10 for the endless belt of the associated gate road conveyer may be mounted on the skid 2 as well as a take-up motion 12 for wire supports for the gate road conveyer, which also has a multiple stage, trolley-mounted take-up pulley 31 and a belt tensioner 30.
