Abstract

1355834 Endless conveyers COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 12 May 1972 [14 May 1971] 14927/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division E1] Loose particulate material, when a conveyer is advanced into the material in a direction at right angles to the length of the conveyer, is agitated as it passes on to the conveyer up over a ramp 8 located on the lower region of a support 2 secured to the side wall 4 of the conveyer by movement of one or more strands 48, 50 of a flexible member supported in spaced apart guides 22 mounted on the ramp 8 and support 2. Preferably each guide is formed with two passages through each of which passes a run of the flexible member, e.g. a reciprocated loop of chain, and may comprise two parts 20, 22 of which one part 20 is rigid with the support and the ramp and the other part 22 is releasably secured to the first part after engagement with locating projections 12 spaced along the top portion of the support. The conveyer may be an armoured face conveyer of a mineral-mining installation in which a cutter machine is movable along the conveyer.
