1419821 Up-and-over doors P TUNJIC 17 Jan 1973 [19 Jan 1972] 2546/73 Heading E2M In a spring-assisted up-and-over door a bracket 19 is attached to each of the side frames of the door opening, a lever arm 12 is. pivoted to each bracket 19 and one end of the leverarm 12 is connected at 13 to a mid-position of the side of the door 10, the other end of the lever arm 12 being biased by a spring assembly 14 to counter-balance the weight of the door when in use. A pair of struts 18, each adapted to be pivotally mounted on each side of the door to upper part of the bracket 19, the lower end of each strut 18 being pivotally connected at 20 at or near the top of the door; The spring assembly 14 is attached to an adjustable link 16 connected to the lever arm 12. In operation, the door 10 is made to pivot about both lever arms 12 and struts 18 in a reverse downward arc indicated by the arrow Y to allow adequate clearance for it to move in the DOWN or closed door position through an arc indicated by the arrow Z. -An abutment 21 at the end of each bracket 19 is adapted to engage each strut 18 to limit the upward movement of the door.
