Abstract
1418908 Vehicle roof racks E RANSFORD 20 June 1973 [21 July 1972] 34192/72 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A clamp for securing fishing rods to the roof of a vehicle comprises jaws 10, 11 which are pivoted at 14 and faced with soft gripping buffers 24, 25 of foamed rubber or plastics, the lower jaw being secured to the roof by a sucker 26 and a gutter clamp 12. The gutter clamp is adjustable at 38, 38a and is tightened by bolts 30 reached through holes 33 in the lower jaw. The arm 16a may be hinged at 18 with the fastening bolt 20 (Fig. 3, not shown), and this bolt may be replaced by a lockable latch. The gutter clamping bolt 30 may be hinged to the clamp portion 37 (Fig. 2, not shown).
