Abstract
1417824 Rotary valves for metallurgical ladles NIPPON KOKAN KK KOKAN KIKAI KOGYO KK and TOKYO YOKYO KK 25 Jan 1974 [12 Feb 1973] 3559/74 Heading F4B In a bottom pour rotary valve for a ladle, sealing means are provided at or near the periphery of the fixed and sliding valve plates. A ring 14 of refractory or metal engages grooves 15, 16 in the fixed plate 4 and rotary plate 5. The sealing ring may rest in a groove in the rotary carrier of the sliding plate to engage the edges of both plates (Fig. 1) or the sealing ring may be formed integral with one of the valve plates to engage a groove in the face of the other valve plate (Fig. 4).
