Abstract

1413408 Rotary screw driers S YAMAMOTO 26 Nov 1973 54810/73 Heading F4G In a grain drying apparatus comprising an auger 3 which revolves around the central portion of a floor plate 2 and rotates about its own axis and discharges the grain from an opening 4 a differential gear mechanism is provided comprising a first gear a connected to a driving shaft 8, a second gear b connected to the auger 3 revolving about the first gear a and rotating about its own axis, and a third gear c meshing with the second gear b and upon which a resistance mechanism e works. Drive shaft is driven through bevel gears 9 by a shaft 18. Resistance mechanism e comprises a shaft d connected at one end to gear c and at the other to blade 11 the rotation of which is resisted by materials 12 such as sand or steel balls in a box 10, the amount of which materials is adjustable either by addition to box 10 through a plate 21 or removal through a plugged opening 22. The box 10 may be supported by chains. In use material is conveyed by a bucket conveyer to a bin 1 where is conveyed by auger 3 through opening 4 and is removed from the bin a screw conveyer 15 driven by a pulley 16. Air is blown in by a blower 25.
