Abstract
1412748 Heating or cooling radiators MENK APPARATEBAU GmbH 9 Nov 1972 [8 Dec 1971 26 Aug 1972] 51741/72 Heading F4S A sectional radiator for heating or cooling (in particular a radiator for cooling the oil of an oil filled transformer tank) comprises upright hollow-plate elements 1 having at least at their upper ends, enlargements which co-operate with a pipe 10 to form a header. The pipe has a longitudinal cut-away portion remote from that end of the pipe which connects the radiator to an inlet flow of hot or cold fluid, and the cutaway portion connects certain of the elements 1 directly to said inlet flow (as shown by the arrows in Fig. 3) whilst that portion of the pipe 10 which is not cut-away screens the elements nearest to the inlet from the direct flow of inlet fluid. In a further form (Figs. 4, 5) the radiator elements. (18-21) remote from the fluid inlet are instepped arrangement, and the cut-away part of the feed pipe (23) is constituted mainly by a U-shaped closure member (24).
