Abstract

1412373 Edging strips A BRAMLEY 17 Jan 1974 [23 Jan 1973] 3470/70 Heading B5K [Also in Division A6] A net as claimed in Specification 1,255,861 is repaired by removing a damaged, welded, edge band and replacing it with a band of fibrous web coated on one face along at least the two lateral edge regions thereof with an adhesive composition which will adhere to itself to form a weather resistant bond, the band being applied by laying the edge of the net along, e.g. one half of the width of the band on the adhesive coated face and then folding the other part of the band over to enclose at least part of each mesh of the outermost row of meshes of the net and pressing the adhesive coated portions together. If the adhesive coating is tacky or pressure sensitive it may be covered by a release coated sheet, e.g. paper, until required for use. The fibrous web band may also be applied in the manner described to a rectilinear net which has not previously had an edge band attached thereto.
