Abstract

1412371 Pouring spouts EISENWERKGESELLSCHAFT MAXIMILIANSHUTTE mbH 1 Jan 1973 [30 Dec 1971] 48/73 Heading F4B A pouring spout (Figs. 1 and 2) for a metallurgical vessel, e.g. a tundish comprises a sleeve insert or lining made of a cast or sintered refractory with a porosity below 5%. Typical materials are corundum, zircon, zirconia, mullite, magnesian spinel or magnesite. The inserts may be made as sleeves in the fixed plate and sliding plate of a sliding gate nozzle (Fig. 3) or extended to the whole surface of such a sliding gate nozzle (Fig. 4).
